Even ten years later, firefighters are still getting inked with 9/11 tattoos. In fact, some of the best firefighting tattoos I've ever seen are 9/11 & WTC related; so I created this group for those of us inked with a 9/11 tribute/memorial tattoo.
I finally got a tattoo a few months ago. My three Daughters said they pay for it and encourage me to get it. I always wanted a Firefighter type tattoo. It is my first one and went some what big, covering my entire left chest. My tattoo was well designed and your website help me a great deal. The Artist was Lea "Lady Luck" at the Syndicate tattoo gallery in San Francisco. It took 2.5 hrs. and really no big deal having it done all at once. Its starts with the IAFF Firefighter Maltese, at the very top is written NEVER FORGOTTEN, which right below is written AFD, Alameda Fire Dept. which I worked for 27 yrs. below that is my LOCAL 689, the members of Local 689 just rock! very proud to have been a member for so long. Below that is 9-11-01, 343, FDNY. On the sides are my 3 Daughters initals K,M,S. Katie, Megan & Shelly. The other side is my passion of the game of chess, which I teach professional chess instruction after I retired 1.5 yrs. ago, and is written CKM8 which stands for checkmate. In the middle of the maltese is the T'ai Chi Ying Yang symbol which I am into heavy. And finally around the Ying Yang is written out INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FIREFIGHTERS. I am an Alumni of this great International after I had retired. Can't wait for summer to show it off. And we will never FORGET OUR 343 BROTHERS ON THAT DAY OF 9/11. Thanks, Dennis Brody
